Sr. Research Associate I

Izaiah joined MFJ in September 2020 as a Legal Research Assistant and was promoted to Research Associate in February 2022. In his role, Izaiah works to contextualize our Measures through collection and codification of statutory laws. He has worked closely with other members of the Research and Strategic Initiatives team in the development of other MFJ projects or events including the PL-280 short report and the recent Roundtable on Improving Data for Racial Equity in Policing. Izaiah has taken on a community engagement role in ongoing policing projects.

Izaiah holds a BA from the University at Albany with a major in Criminal Justice and a dual minor in Political Science and English. During his time at Albany, Izaiah worked as a judicial intern with Westchester County courts, an investigative intern with the NYS DMV, and a student researcher with the Rensselaer County DA. Izaiah is interested in criminal law and data transparency and was drawn to the role that MFJ plays in both.

Izaiah lives in Rochester, NY but is originally from the New York City Metropolitan area. He enjoys spending time with his dog Lemon, staying active, and traveling when he gets the chance.
