National Prosecutorial Dashboards

Lessons Learned, Themes, and Categories for Consideration

Demand for full transparency from prosecutor offices is on the rise. To answer that demand, prosecutor offices nationwide are deploying public-facing dashboards like Commons to communicate information about how cases are being processed and moved through the system.

To help prosecutor offices prepare for these dashboards, the Association for Prosecuting Attorneys convened The National Prosecutorial Dashboards Advisory Group, comprising prosecutors, researchers, national organizations, and foundations.

After several months of discussion, the Group has released a resource guide for prosecutor offices interested in pursuing a public-facing dashboard as a means to increased community engagement, transparency, public accountability, and racial equity.

This resource guide was created with the support of the Tableau Foundation, which is committed to accelerating the use of data to solve the world’s biggest problems.
